A massive multi-client survey has just been completed in the UK North Sea while in the pipeline are newly awarded contracts covering mainly subsea installation and maintenance activities on behalf of clients in the Americas and in the Western Pacific.
PGS wraps up multi-client survey in Kraken field off Scotland
PGS has completed the acquisition of a new survey in the UK sector of the North Sea over the Kraken field, East of Shetland.
Ramform Vanguard acquired the multi-client survey, covering two new azimuths of 200 square kilometres. Initial data will be available in Q2 2022.
The Kraken field lies in blocks 9/2b and 9/2c within the P1575 license. The reservoir is oil-bearing Paleocene Heimdal sands.
Kraken North, Central, and South are produced using an FPSO. EnQuest is the operator and owns a 70.5 per cent interest in the asset while the remaining stake is co-owned by Cairn Energy.
Vineyard Wind taps Jan De Nul for inter-array cable supply and installation
US-based joint venture company Vineyard Wind has selected the partnership of Jan De Nul Group and subcontractor JDR Cable Systems to supply and install the roughly 130 miles (209 kilometres) of inter-array cables for the Vineyard Wind One offshore wind project.
The 66kV inter-array cables connecting 62 GE Haliade-X turbines will transfer electricity to an offshore substation for transmission to the grid.
Vineyard Wind One is an 800MW project located 15 miles (24 kilometres) off the coast of Martha's Vineyard and will be the first commercial-scale offshore wind project in the United States. The project will generate electricity for more than 400,000 homes and businesses in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
P&O Maritime Logistics starts supporting operations at Greater Changhua wind farm off Taiwan
UAE-based P&O Maritime Logistics' field and ROV support vessel Topaz Tangaroa has begun working in support of Van Oord and Ørsted on the Greater Changhua offshore wind farm in Taiwanese waters.
P&O will operate the vessel in performing multi-beam surveys, ROV operations, and cable trenching at the site.
DOF Subsea secures further contract awards in Asia-Pacific
DOF Subsea has secured multiple contract awards for work in the Asia-Pacific region in Q3 and Q4 2021.
Onshore works are underway for several offshore campaigns that will utilise the construction support vessel (CSV) Skandi Hercules as well as onshore and offshore teams from Q3 2021 into Q1 2022.
The first campaign will support maintenance activities at an offshore facility in the Timor Sea for a short duration. Following this, the vessel and the team will be deployed on several construction and pre-commissioning support campaigns off the Northern Australian coast.
Onshore works are also underway for several offshore campaigns that will utilise the dive support vessel (DSV) Skandi Singapore in saturation diving mode in the region during 2022.
A further key contract award will utilise high specification vessel and related subsea services to undertake a significant pre-commissioning and commissioning support campaign off the Northern Australian coast. This campaign will commence in Q1 2022 with onshore preparation activities underway.
Maersk Supply Service selected for EPCI work in Brazil
Maersk Supply Service has secured a major project contract for the Libra Consortium in Brazil concerning the pre-lay of the mooring system for a newbuild FPSO in Brazilian waters.
The project will integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) work and will be carried out over 2021 and 2022.
The work consists of pre-laying 24 torpedo anchors, each weighing 120 tonnes and measuring 23 metres long, in 2,000 metres of water depth offshore Rio De Janeiro at the Mero 2 Project. Maersk Supply Service will be responsible for all activities from engineering, procurement, and offshore execution.
