Singapore shipyard Penguin International has launched the first catamaran windfarm service vessel that will operate under the Irish flag.

Built to a BV-classed Incat Crowther design, Farra Orla will be operated by Farra Marine upon its delivery later in the second quarter of 2021.

The 27-metre vessel will have seating for up to 24 technicians on the main deck, a main cabin with showers, toilets, and lockers, and two crew cabins with bathrooms in each of the twin hulls. Four Scania DI16 077M 662kW engines will drive a quartet of HamiltonJet 521 units to propel the vessel to speeds of up to 29 knots.
