EGS Survey, through subsidiary EGS Australia, has been awarded a contract to undertake a survey in Western Australia waters under the Commonwealth Hydroscheme Industry Partnership Program (HIPP).

EGS Australia will perform a survey covering the northern approaches to Broome, Gantheaume Point to Talboys Rock. The HIPP planning process has identified the northern approaches to Broome as a high priority for the hydrographic survey area.

The survey is to increase the safety and navigational accuracy of existing charts of the Broome region and to generate a precise, high accuracy multi-beam echo-sounder (MBES) reference area which will be used to support future surveys in the region.

EGS has selected Perth-based offshore specialist Bhagwan Marine to provide the survey platform, which will be mobilised in Darwin in August 2020.
