SeaLink starts operational sailings of newest ferry

Australian operator SeaLink Travel Group has begun operational sailings of its newest Bruny Island ferry.

Named Parrabah after the translation for "whale" in the First Nation people's language, the 45-metre, all-aluminium vessel will provide transport services for both residents and tourists between Kettering and Roberts Point.

Parrabah will operate alongside sister vessel Nairana, which was delivered last year. Both ferries were built by Richardson Devine Marine of Tasmania.

SeaLink group CEO Clint Feuerherdt said the two ferries' sailings will be scheduled in such a way that one will depart every 20 minutes.
