NIDCO’s newest fast ferry starts operational sailings

The National Infrastructure Development Company (NIDCO) of Trinidad and Tobago began operational sailings of its newest fast ferry on Friday, June 4.

Designed and built by Australia's Incat Tasmania, the all-aluminium Buccoo Reef measures 100 metres long and is capable of speeds in excess of 39 knots. It will carry up to 995 passengers and 239 vehicles on each of two daily trips between Scarborough (08:00 departure) and Port of Spain (16:00 departure) every week from Monday to Friday.

Onboard amenities include three main passenger seating sections, bars, and a medical bay.
