A new catamaran vessel being built for New Zealand operator East by West Ferries has been launched at the facilities of Wellington Electric Boat Building Company (WEBBCo).
The 19-metre, 135-passenger Ika Rere boasts a hull made from composite material and an electric propulsion system.
East by West said the ferry will then undergo sea trials and final commissioning before its delivery, which is scheduled for September 2021.
