The Tasmania Police recently welcomed a new response boat into service.
The 11.9-metre Dauntless is a monohull FRP vessel with self-righting ability and waterjet propulsion. It will be used by the Tasmania Police's Marine and Rescue Services unit.
The new boat will undergo additional testing before it begins operational sailings. Crews are also training and familiriasing themselves with the vessel.
