Marine Rescue New South Wales has taken delivery of a new response boat to operate out of Point Danger at Coolangatta.

The 12.5-metre rigid inflatable boat (RIB), which has been named PD31, was built by Yamba Welding and Engineering to a Naiad design.

The newbuild replaces Marine Rescue Point Danger's earlier boat, PD30, which will be refurbished before resuming operations as the first vessel of Marine Rescue NSW's Eden rescue station.
