Marine Rescue New South Wales formally welcomed a new rigid inflatable boat (RIB) into service on Monday, January 10.

MB20 is the latest of 38 rescue boats funded through an AU$37.6 million (US$26.9 million) investment by the NSW Government. It is based at Merimbula on NSW's southern coast.

Built by Yamba Welding and Engineering to a Naiad design, the 6.8-metre-long split console RIB is powered by twin Suzuki engines that deliver a maximum speed of 37 knots.
