Rayglass Boats recently delivered a new rigid inflatable boat (RIB) to rescue charity Coastguard New Zealand for use at its North Kaipara station along Komiti Bay.

The new boat has been named Tinopai Rescue after a small settlement on Komiti Bay. It is powered by two Mercury outboards and is equipped with a Simrad radar.

The RIB was acquired entirely through grant funding totalling NZ$9.8 million (US$6.6 million). Its area of operations will encompass 900 square kilometres off north Auckland.
