Coastguard New Zealand recently took delivery of a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) from local builder Rayglass Boats.

Moana Rescue is one of 26 RIBs that were originally built by Rayglass as chase boats for the America's Cup races. It has since been refitted for the marine rescue role with modifications including a thermal camera, loudhailers, flashing lights, radars, and cabinetry for pelican boxes, stretchers, and first aid kits.

The RIB will be based at Coastguard Dunedin station on South Island.
