Austal has delivered the second Guardian-class patrol boat to the Australian Department of Defence, which then presented the vessel to the government of Tuvalu.
Named Te Mataili II, it is the second of 21 Guardian-class boats being gifted by Australia to 12 Pacific Island nations and Timor-Leste under the Commonwealths Pacific Maritime Security Program.
The vessel will be operated by the Tuvalu Police Force.
