Austal Australia has delivered the eighth Guardian-class patrol boat to the Australian Department of Defence.

The 39-metre VOEA Ngahau Siliva was gifted by the Australian Government to the Kingdom of Tonga in a handover ceremony at Austal's Henderson shipyard in Western Australia on Friday, October 30.

Ngahau Siliva is the second Guardian-class boat to be built for the Tongan Maritime Force under the Pacific Patrol Boat Replacement Project. It will replace VOEA Neiafu, a Pacific-class patrol boat that had entered service in 1989.
