The subsea acquisition segment gets the lion's share in this latest succession of offshore projects. The newly awarded contracts under the segment cover activities in Western Europe, Australia, and the US Gulf of Mexico.

Fugro tapped for cable route survey off Denmark's Energy Island development

Fugro has secured a new contract with Danish grid operator Energinet to undertake cable route surveys for the North Sea Energy Island project.

Fugro will perform a combination of geophysical and geotechnical services and laboratory testing to provide valuable insight into the ground engineering challenges along the cable route from the Danish landfalls to the future artificial island location. Mobilisation of survey vessels will commence in March 2022.

The Energy Island will serve as an offshore power plant distributing up to 10 GW of offshore wind to Denmark and other neighbouring markets.

Magseis Fairfield awarded extension to Gulf of Mexico 4D contract

Magseis Fairfield has secured an extension to an existing 4D OBN contract awarded by an undisclosed customer for work in the US Gulf of Mexico.

The work covered by the extension will commence in Q2 2022 and will run for approximately two months.

Green Energy Group wins OBN work in Eastern hemisphere

The Green Energy Group (formerly SeaBird Exploration) has received a letter of intent from an unnamed client for an ocean bottom node (OBN) source contract in the Eastern hemisphere.

The contract is scheduled to commence late in the first quarter of 2022. The work has a duration of approximately 90 days.

Santos selects Shearwater for Western Australia multicomponent surveys

Shearwater GeoServices has been selected by Santos to perform two multicomponent surveys offshore Western Australia.

The two-month program covers the Keraudren North Extension with an area of approximately 680 square kilometres in the Bedout Basin, and the Petrel Sub-Basin 3D survey of approximately 1,100 square kilometres. Work will commence before the end of February 2022.

The survey vessel Geo Coral will conduct data acquisition on both projects using a multicomponent streamer system.

OCTIO secures multi-year geophysical monitoring contract with Norske Shell

Reach Subsea subsidiary OCTIO has secured a multi-year geophysical monitoring contract with Norske Shell for the Ormen Lange field offshore Norway.

OCTIO's contract with Norske Shell is valid until January 2026 and also includes two one-year extensions.

Subsea 7 to undertake installation at Beacon's Shenandoah Development in Gulf of Mexico

Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract to deliver subsea installation services related to Houston-based Beacon Offshore Energy's Shenandoah Development in the Gulf of Mexico in water depths up to 1,920 metres.

The project covers the tie-back of four subsea wells to the Shenandoah host facility through a subsea manifold with dual flowlines and risers. The work scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation (EPCI) and commissioning of the subsea equipment including structures, umbilicals, and production and gas export flowlines.

Subsea 7's scope also includes the wet tow and hook-up of the semi-submersible FPS to the field and mooring system installation.

Project management and engineering will commence immediately at Subsea 7's offices in Houston, Texas. Fabrication of the flowlines and risers will take place at Subsea 7's spoolbase in Ingleside, Texas, while offshore operations are scheduled to begin in 2024.
