Svitzer Australia has provided three vessels to assist in ongoing efforts to evacuate residents affected by bushfires in Eden, New South Wales.

The company said through its official Twitter account that the tugs Wistari (pictured) and Cooma and the pilot boat Mersey have been operating in support of evacuation efforts at Eden since Sunday, January 5.

Svitzer Australia has stated that its vessels' crews are safe and that they were able to successfully embark more than 80 affected residents while moored at Eden Wharf on Sunday.

A break in the weather on Thursday, January 9, has given the Svitzer crews a respite prior to resuming evacuation assistance duties on the following day.
