Keel laid for 26m longliner for New Zealand’s Westfleet

The Aimex Service Group of Nelson, New Zealand, has laid the keel for a new steel-aluminium longliner ordered by Westfleet Seafoods of Greymouth.

The Oceantech-designed Te Runanga will have a length of 26 metres, a beam of 7.8 metres, a refigerated hold capacity of 112.5 cubic metres, and a freezer hold capacity of 15.6 cubic metres. Power will be provided by a single Cummins QSK-19M diesel engine with a rated output of 492 kW at 1,800 rpm.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2023.
