Tasmania-based Australian Longline has entered into a contract with Vard Group for the construction of a new factory autoliner.

Designed by Skipsteknisk, the vessel will be used mainly for fishing Patagonian toothfish in Antarctic waters.

The autoliner will have an LOA of 61.9 metres, a width of 13.5 metres, a crew of 30, and a holding capacity of 950 cubic metres.

It will be built in Vard Group's Vietnam shipyard and will be delivered in 2020.
