The largest rock lobster catcher in Australia has just completed sea trials in time for operational sailing once the new fishing season commences in the middle of January 2019.

Owned by rock lobster fishers George and Clay Bass, Poppa G is Australia's largest lobster boat in terms of length and capacity. It has a length of 24 metres and a hold capacity in excess of six tonnes distributed among over 200 crates.

The vessel is currently undergoing fine-tuning of its onboard electronics as one of the final steps in making it fully operational.
