Iceland's Rafnar has received an order for a new lifeboat from Björgunarsveitin Ársæll, the search and rescue (SAR) agency serving the area between the cities of Reykjavik and Seltjarnanes.
The rigid inflatable boat (RIB) will have a length of 11 metres, a FLIR camera, and two Mercury SeaPro 223kW outboard engines that deliver a speed of 43 knots.
The lifeboat will be the third in a series ordered by Björgunarsveitin Ársæll for operation by the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICE-SAR).
