United Shipbuilding Corporation's (USC) Yantar Baltic Shipbuilding Plant launched the Project 02670 oceanographic research vessel Yevgeniy Gorigledzhan on Friday, December 25.
The vessel honours the late Yevgeniy Alekseevich Gorigledzhan, a naval architect known for his work in designing some of Russia's nuclear-powered submarines.
Once completed, Yevgeniy Gorigledzhan will have a length of 81 metres, a beam of 16 metres, a displacement of approximately 4,000 tonnes, space for 32 crew and 25 researchers, and an endurance of 30 days.
