South Korean technology company Tas Global recently introduced a new underwater robot designed specifically to clean the hulls of ships.

The hull-cleaning robot is capable of attaching securely on ships underwater and on the water surface. Tas Global claimed it is the only underwater robot capable of cleaning while moving freely on curved surfaces.

The robot is operated by various sensors and is equipped with eight cameras that face in all directions. While the robot weighs only 200 kilograms, it moves smoothly by maintaining positive buoyancy.

A portable filtration system developed in-house by Tas Global is connected to the robot's body and is used to clean microorganisms and microparticles in three stages.
