OOCL names ‘Beijing’ in Shanghai

Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) held the naming ceremony of 'OOCL Beijing' at Wharf No. 7 at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in Shanghai, China yesterday. 'OOCL Beijing' is the first of eight 8,888TEU vessels on order from Hudong-Zhonghua.

'OOCL Beijing' is 335 metres long, 42.8 metres wide with a deadweight of approximately 100,400 tonnes.

She will be deployed on the MAX service with a port rotation of Shanghai – Ningbo – Hong Kong – Shekou – Singapore – Jebel Ali – Damman – Bandar Abbas – Port Kelang – Singapore – Hong Kong, and back to Shanghai in a 42-day round trip.
