A keel-laying ceremony for a 1,000m3 dredger was recently held at JSC's Krasnoe Sormovo dockyard in Russia.
Part of a three-vessel order for FSUE Rosmorport, the vessels will be used in the Port of Saint Petersburg, maintaining harbour depths and ensuring safe navigation.
Designed by Damen, the vessel will be tailored for their future operating climates. The dredger will be fitted with multi-functional suspended deep-well dredging pumps to widen their operability, allowing them to operate near piers and berths.
Constructed under survey to the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, the vessel will be self-propelled and twin-screw, with auxiliary thrusters, superstructures and a pilothouse.
The vessel measures 62.6 metres in length overall, with a beam of 14 metres and a loaded draught of 4.25 metres. The vessel's maximum dredging depth will be 20 metres.
