Turkish yard floats out new tug for Kenya Ports Authority

Turkish shipyard Med Marine has floated out a new ship handling and coastal towing tug ordered by the Kenya Ports Authority.

Once completed, the Robert Allan Ltd-designed vessel will have an LOA of 42 metres, a moulded beam of 16 metres, a maximum draught of 7.2 metres, a bollard pull of 120 tonnes, and space for 18 crewmembers.

The tug will be operated out of the Port of Mombasa. Secondary duties will include salvage operations.
