Kazakhstan's Caspian Offshore Construction recently took delivery of a 16-metre ice-class tug from Damen Shipyards Changde in China.
The vessel, which has been named Caspian Flora, will be used primarily to transport marine-related project equipment but may also serve other roles including but not limited to personnel transport, deployment and retrieval of navigational aids, performance of channel inspections, and removal of obstacles as required.
The tug was available in stock and was delivered to the customer within six weeks of the contract signing. Modifications such as extra air-conditioning capabilities and a crane were installed in Kazakhstan following delivery.
