Greenbay Marine delivers new tug

Greenbay Marine of Siingapore has delivered a 65-tonne bollard pull tug to TM Harbour Services of India.

The tug has an overall length of 31 metres on a beam of 11 metres with a moulded depth of 5.6 metres and a designed draught of 4.6 metres. 'Baitarani' has a complement of eleven.

Powered by twin Caterpillar 3516B main engines, each rated at 2,000kW at 1,600rpm, driving twin fixed pitch Schottel Rudderpropellers, 'Baitarani' was built under survey to the American Bureau of Shipping with the notation: ++A1, towing vessel, +AMS, FiFi 1 with water spray, Unrestricted.

'Baitarani' has a bollard pull ahead of 65 tonnes (maximum) and a bollard pull astern of 58 tonnes (maximum). The tug has a speed of 12.5 knots and tonnage of 454 tonnes.

Auxiliary power is provided by twin Cummins generators, each 136kW at 1,500rpm, with a single 38kW Caterpillar C4.4 engine.

A single COSC CTT110L-FP rated at 180kW is driven by a Caterpillar C7.
