Russian shipyard lays keel for second ROB20 oil barge

UCL Holding subsidiary Okskaya Sudoverf has conducted a keel-laying ceremony for the second of 10 non-self-propelled loading barges.

The series of Project ROB20 vessels will be built for St Petersburg-based Pola Rise.

Developed by Marine Engineering Bureau, the 118.7-metre LOA barge (Hull No 4102) has a 2.75-metre draught. The 6,013DWT vessel is designed to transport petroleum products and has a 6,530-cubic-metre capacity.

The contract was signed on October 31, with delivery scheduled for the first half of 2018.
