New tanker boosts Gothia Tanker Alliance

Sweden-based ship owner Furetank Rederi has accepted delivery of a new chemical/product tanker, the 20,000-cubic-metre Fure Vinga.

The 149.9-metre by 22.8-metre newbuilding was delivered by China's Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding.

The 16,300DWT tanker will be commercially managed by Furetank Chartering as part of the Gothia Tanker Alliance.

She is one of six vessels ordered by Furetank Rederi, together with Alliance partners Thun Tankers and Älvtank Rederi.

The FKAB-designed vessels fulfill the Tier III rules and have LNG for inert gas production, power production with floating frequency, battery backup (UPS) for all vital functions to minimise use of auxiliary engines, installed ballast water cleaning system, ice class 1A and alternative propulsion system.
