US-based Maxum Petroleum has taken delivery of Global Provider, a self-propelled bunker ship designed by Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG) of Seattle and built by Jesse Co Metal Fabrication and Machinery of Tacoma.

The vessel will be used to deliver fuel and lube oil to ship operators in the Pacific Northwest.

Global Provider measures 38.45 metres in length with a 9.75-metre width, 3.04-metre draught, and 3.96-metre depth to main deck.

The vessel has a carrying capacity of 573,000 litres and is equipped with a cargo handling system featuring six pairs of cargo tanks to allow movement of segregated products in a single trip, without cross-contamination.

It is powered by two Cummins QSK-19M 492kW Tier III engines and is equipped with twin disc model MGX-5202 reduction gears that drive two fixed pitch propellers.
