Maersk Product Tankers has entered into an agreement to purchase seven secondhand handysize vessels from unnamed owners.
The purchased vessels were all built in South Korea in 2009 and 2010 and are of shallow-draught design.
The company has taken delivery of the first vessel, the 2009-built 37,961DWT chemical tanker Bunga Akasia, which was been renamed Hans Maersk. The six remaining vessels are expected to be delivered over the coming months.
