APM Terminals has inaugurated its first cold storage warehouse in India.
The 1,000-square-metre warehouse at Chennai will ensure reliable transport of refrigerated cargo, including goods such as fish, fruits, medicines, and specialty chemicals that require strict temperature control through the supply chain.
APM Terminals' Global Head of Inland Services Dries van Dongen said the cold chain solutions facility, which is integrated with APM Terminals' container freight station, is the first of its kind in south India.
Customers will benefit from plug-in facilities for cold warehousing, customs examination and clearance service under controlled temperature, palletisation and packaging, on-wheel customs seal verification, and bonded cargo movement to different seaports and airports.
The services are available for domestic and international import/export customers.
