The Icelandic Competition Authority is investigating shipping companies Eimskip and Samskip over allegations they committed infringements against the Icelandic competition act.

The companies are accused of committing collusion in 2010, including collusion on limiting transportation supply, market sharing by customers, market sharing by regions in Iceland, price collusion and the sharing of information on sensitive business matters.

No information is available on potential fines, or if they will materialise.
