MOL, COSCO christen new LNG carrier for Yamal project

Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and China COSCO Shipping have held a naming ceremony for the first of four LNG carriers in a series.

Built by Hudong Zhonghua, the vessel has been named LNG Dubhe after a star in the constellation Ursa Major. It is scheduled to go into operation to serve Russia's Yamal LNG project following its delivery at the end of October.

The vessel has a length of 295 metres, a beam of 45 metres, a draught of 11.5 metres, and a cargo tank capacity of 174,000 cubic metres.
