Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping recently took delivery of a new very large ethane carrier (VLEC) built by a South Korean shipyard.
STL Yangtze is the first in a series of six VLECs ordered by Eastern Pacific from the same builder. Each ship will have capacity for 98,000 cubic metres and dual-fuel propulsion that can also operate on ethane.
The newbuild will operate on a 15-year charter with Chinese company Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical (STL). Under the charter, the ship will transport ethane from the US Gulf Coast to STL's plant in Lianyungang.
