Japan Marine United (JMU) has been awarded a contract by local company JFE Steel Corporation for the construction of a 211,000DWT bulk carrier.
The capesize vessel will have an LOA of approximately 300 metres, a beam of 50 metres, a depth of 25 metres, a draught of 18.4 metres, and a crew of 25.
Completion of the vessel is expected in 2021. It will be used for transporting coal and iron ore throughout the Asia Pacific region.
