Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding (MES) has completed and delivered the 56,000DWT-type bulk carrier 'Hanjin Chiba' at its Chiba Works facility in mid-November.
Ordered by Panamanian company Venus Ocean Navigation, the vessel is the seventh ship within MES' "neo56BC" series of new-generation eco-ship.
The vessel measures 189.9 metres in length overall, with a moulded breadth of 32.25 metres, a moulded depth of 18.1 metres, and a gross tonnage of 31,764GT.
Powered by a Mitsui-MAN B&W diesel engine, the vessel has a service speed of about 14.4 knots, with the electronically controlled engine combining with the vessel's optimised shape to improve efficiency and fuel consumption.
Capable of servicing a range of domestic and foreign ports, the vessel has four cranes and five cargo holds.
The vessel is designed for loading various cargoes like coal, ore, grain, as well as lengthy/heavy cargo such as steel pipe.
