Taiwan-based CSBC Corporation has resolved to kick off new business operations in 2010 by tapping into lucrative markets in China and India. Some of CSBC's plans include setting up a ship design and consulting firm in China.

WL Cheng, Chairman of CSBC, said that the company aimed to evolve into a conglomerate through the expansion of business scopes, including the establishment of a coating firm.

At present, CSBC has an order backlog of 40 containerships, including 14 from Yangming Marine Transport, twelve from Wan Hai Lines, six from Japan-based Marubeni Corporation, and eight from Germany-based Peter Dohle.
