Wan Hai Lines (Singapore) has taken delivery of a new 3,055TEU containership from Japan Marine United (JMU).

Wan Hai 327 can carry containers in a 12 by six arrangement in the hold and stacks of 14 by seven on the deck.

The vessel is designed to serve Wan Hai's medium- and long-haul routes on its inter-Asia and intra-Asia services.

The NK-classed, Singapore-flagged newbuild has an optimised hull form, an LOA of 203.5 metres, a beam of 34.8 metres, a draught of 11.5 metres, a deadweight of 37,160 tonnes, space for 25 crew, and a ballast water treatment system.

One electronically-controlled MAN B&W 7S70ME-C10.5 diesel engine delivers a speed of 21.6 knots. The engine is also equipped with a pump that uses seawater for cooling, further improving fuel efficiency.
