Iceland's Eimskip has entered into an agreement to sell two of its containerships for a total consideration of US$3.9 million.
The objects of the sale are the 1,457TEU vessels Godafoss (pictured) and Laxfoss, which have been in service for nearly 20 years.
Two new 2,150TEU vessels are currently under construction in China and are slated to join the Eimskip fleet to replace Godafoss and Laxfoss. Meanwhile, the two older vessels will continue to service the Red line, to and from Scandinavia, until the newbuildings will be delivered.
