Finland's Weldmec Marine has been awarded a contract to build a safety and support vessel for Norwegian Defence.
The family-owned Porvoo company said the contract included the option for another vessel.
Equipped for challenging duties and conditions, the 13-metre aluminium boat has twin Yanmar engines and Rolls-Royce waterjets that provide speeds of up to 40 knots.
Weldmec Marine Managing Director Jari Ahoranta said the vessel, which is built to DNV-GL class, could also be used as a patrol boat.
