German boat builder Tamsen Maritim is currently constructing two patrol boats in a series for the country's Federal Customs Service.
Once completed, the vessels will each have a length of 23 metres, a draught of 1.2 metres, and MAN 880kW IMO Tier III engines that will deliver speeds of just above 20 knots.
The boats are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2022 and early 2023, respectively. They will be operated in the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as in other areas such as the estuaries of major rivers and shallow waters with sensitive ecosystems.
