A new monohull dive compliance vessel was recently accepted by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) following successful launch and sea trials.
Named Sentry, the 38- by 13-foot (11.5- by four-metre) vessel is the first unit of Armstrong Marine's design proposal selected by the DNR as the winner of a competitive solicitation process held last year.
The vessel is customised for geoduck fishery management along with other marine law enforcement operations. It is equipped with a four-foot (1.2-metre) dive platform, tank racks, an aft deck shower, a custom dive ladder, and seating for two crew and four passengers.
Twin Cummins QSB6.7 425hp (316kW) engines give Sentry a cruising speed of 24 knots and a pursuit speed of 30 knots.
The second vessel under the contract is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed later this summer.
