Turkey's Ares Shipyard has been awarded a tender consisting of 105 high speed control boats in a series for the Turkish Ministry of Interior-Coast Guard.
The control boats will be deployed on a range of missions including combatting illegal migration, search and rescue (SAR), anti-human trafficking, and maritime security and safety.
The vessels will operate in all coastal areas of Turkey, from Artvin in the Northeast portion of the Black Sea to Hatay in the Southeast portion of the Mediterranean.
The first of the vessels is scheduled to be commissioned in 2020.
Each control boat will have an LOA of 11 metres, a width of 3.3 metres, a draught of 0.85 metres, and twin inboard diesel engines delivering a maximum speed in excess of 35 knots.
