French defence shipbuilder the Naval Group has expanded its operations in South-East Asia with the formal opening of a new office in the Philippines' capital city of Manila on Wednesday, July 12.
The opening of the new office is in line with the company's expected participation in an upcoming tender process calling for the supply of newbuild submarines for the Philippine Navy. The submarine being proposed is a variant of the Scorpene-class, examples of which are already in service with the navies of India, Malaysia, Chile, and Brazil.
The Naval Group said it is ready to provide long-term support for the Philippines in the development of its naval capabilities.
