Zelenodolsk shipyard lays keel for sixth Project 22160 patrol ship for Navy

The Zelenodolsk shipbuilding yard in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan has held a keel-laying ceremony for its sixth Project 22160 patrol ship.

Designed by the St Petersburg's JSC Northern Design Bureau, Project 22160 patrol ships can assist search-and-rescue operations, counter piracy, escorting duties and support naval forces.

Crewed by 80, the ships have an endurance of 60 days and cruising range of 6,000 nautical miles. Developing a speed of up to 30 knots, the displace up to 1,700 tonnes.

The ceremony was held for the sixth ship it is building.
