Three shipyards of Russia's United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) simultaneously laid the keels of six future vessels for the country's navy on Monday, August 23.
In a ceremony with President Vladimir Putin attending via videoconference as guest of honour, the keels were laid for two Project 955A nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines at Sevmash Shipyard, two Project 636.3 diesel-electric attack submarines at Admiralty Shipyard, and a Project 20380 and Project 20385 corvette at Amur Shipyard.
The navy expects these six new vessels will be commissioned into service during the 2022-2027 timeframe.
