Spanish shipbuilder Navantia floated out a new warship at its San Fernando yard in Cadiz on Saturday, July 24.
The future Jazan, named after a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia, is the fourth of five Al Jubail-class corvettes that Navantia is building for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF). It will be optimised for anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, and anti-submarine warfare missions.
Navantia will also provide the RSNF with crew training and logistical support, including maintenance support throughout the Al Jubail-class ships' service lives, as part of the newbuilding contract.
