An official of United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has assured Russia's Ministry of Defence that the repair of the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov will be completed on schedule even after the ship had sustained damage while in dry dock.

USC President Alexey Rakhmanov told the country's senior defence ministers that the damage to the ship was not significantly serious as to adversely affect the timeline of the repair.

Admiral Kuznetsov sustained damage while undergoing refitting in Murmansk on October 30 when a crane fell onto its flight deck during float-out.
