The Royal Malaysian Navy took delivery of a new locally built warship on Tuesday, December 31.
The future KD Keris is the first of a planned class of four littoral mission ships (LMS) built by Boustead Naval Shipyard with the cooperation of China Shipbuilding and Offshore International Company. It has a length of 68 metres, a crew of 45, an endurance of 15 days, and a maximum speed of 22 knots.
The vessel may be equipped with various mission packages for mine countermeasures, intelligence gathering, and hydrographic operations.
