Philippine shipbuilder Propmech Corporation has confirmed that it is coordinating closely with local defence officials regarding the possible construction of larger warships for the country's navy.
If selected, Propmech will build the larger vessels at its facilities just outside Manila alongside the 17-metre multi-purpose attack craft (MPAC) that it has been supplying to the Philippine Navy since 2012.
Propmech operations manager Jon Osias told local media that the proposed navy vessels will each be 32 metres long and will likely utilise an existing warship design already in operation overseas.
